Connecting with Chapters

The Gold Foundation’s mission is to empower experts, learners, and leaders to together create systems and cultures that support humanistic care for all. The Gold Humanism Honor Society has over 185 chapters with more than 47,000 members in practice, research, and education. The power of the human connection, especially amongst this robust network of compassionate doctors is something that we hope to harness at the chapter level and beyond. GHHS chapters are encouraged to connect with their peers across the United States and internationally. The conversations, creativity, and commitment to the promotion of compassionate patient care can only multiply when these connections are made.

One example of a chapter connection between the Howard University College of Medicine and University of Michigan is the Fad-vodacy and Armchair Empathy: Inspiring Sustainable Action session part of the 2021 Humanism and Healing Conference: Structural Racism and Its Impact on Medicine, hosted by the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS).

If your chapter is interested in connecting with another chapter around programming, a sortable and searchable list of GHHS chapters that includes where they are located (state/country and region), type of institution, and the year they were established has been made available. To find a point of contact for the GHHS chapter you’d like to partner with, search here for the GHHS chapter and click on “details” for the Chapter Advisor’s contact information.
