Start a GHHS Chapter at Your Osteopathic Medical School

The Gold Foundation is excited to welcome more osteopathic medical schools into the Gold Humanism Honor Society community.

GHHS chapters bring together students, residents, and faculty members who are dedicated to kind, safe, trustworthy care of their patients, as well as committed to creating a healthcare system that is human-centered.

Medical education programs that have met pre-accreditation standards for a minimum of two years from COCA may petition the GHHS Advisory Council to start a Chapter of GHHS.

How to Apply for a GHHS Chapter

We have a standardized application that helps you start off your chapter smoothly. It includes plans for how you will introduce the chapter to your school and sustain it, as well as plans for formally inducted the members and the timeline for your peer nomination and selection process.

The application also requires a letter of support from your dean that acknowledges the annual GHHS chapter dues required to maintain your chapter’s active status.

Chapter dues

A GHHS Chapter is responsible for annual dues of $4,000.

Gold Partners Council memberships automatically include GHHS dues. Join the Gold Partners Council, a group of leading schools and hospitals that support humanism in healthcare, and receive many other benefits, too, such as access year-round to the Tell Me More® program for use at your school. Reach out to Judith Friedland at jfriedland@gold-foundation.org for more information.
