The Pearl Birnbaum Hurwitz Humanism in Healthcare Award is presented annually to an individual who exemplifies humanism and has advanced, through their scholarship, advocacy, leadership, or work, the well-being of vulnerable or underserved populations within the healthcare arena.
The award was established in 2014 thanks to a generous gift from Dr. Ronald Arky, Daniel D. Federman Professor of Medicine and Medical Education at Harvard Medical School.
The call for nominations for the 2025 award will open soon.
