This new benefit is extended to Hippocrates and Blackwell members of the Gold Partners Council to help foster a humanistic patient experience
Dr. Harry Agress Jr., a retired radiologist and now professional photographer, has generously donated large-scale fine art prints of his photographs to select Gold Partners Council hospitals and healthcare institutions. The photographs provide solace for patients, families, and staff alike.
“Hospitals can be very intimidating, and patients frequently enter with a great deal of trepidation. I strongly believe that art can have a significant emotional impact, not only on patients, but also on visitors and staff by creating a welcoming, supportive and hopeful environment of beauty and color,” says Dr. Agress.
Currently, Dr. Agress is retired from his radiology practice at Hackensack University Medical Center and is volunteer teaching residents at Columbia Presbyterian and Weill/Cornell Medical Centers. Throughout his lifetime he has taken gorgeous photographs across the globe, including sweeping landscapes from Europe, Southeast Asia and China to the vistas of Utah, spectacular glaciers and wildlife of Alaska to the dazzling skylines of New York City. Multiple photographs have already been installed at leading hospitals throughout the country. The Gold Partners Council initiative will extend the impact of his photographs to more patients and families.
This is a generous benefit created in partnership with Dr. Agress, and members at the Hippocrates and Blackwell levels are invited to select one or more photographs for display in patient areas, at no charge. The only expense for the hospital is to hang the photograph.
