UCF-Gold Humanism in Medicine Award

Celebrating Humanism in Urologic Training

The UCF–Gold Humanism in Medicine Award honors urology residents and fellows who demonstrate extraordinary humanism, compassion, and a deep commitment to patient-centered care.

This award is part of a 3-year pilot program and is offered by invitation only in collaboration between the Urology Care Foundation (UCF) and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. Please complete the UCF-Gold Award Participation Acknowledgment Form.

This special recognition highlights emerging urologists who model empathy, cultural humility, integrity, and meaningful humanitarian engagement both within and beyond the clinical setting.

2025 Honorees

Peris R. Castaneda, MD

Dr. Castaneda, a fifth-year urology resident at Cedars-Sinai and University of Michigan graduate, is deeply committed to mentoring underrepresented groups in urology through programs such as UReTER, the Society for Women in Urology, and Urology Unbound.

 

 

 

Sai Krishnaraya Doppalapudi, MD

Dr. Doppalapudi (“Dr. Krishna”), a robotics fellow at Hackensack University Medical Center, is dedicated to thorough, compassionate patient care and actively engages in humanitarian service through the Sri Sathya Sai International Service Organization and local community volunteer work.

 

 

 

Allison Grant, MD

Dr. Grant, a urology resident at Columbia University Irving Medical Center applying for a pediatric urology fellowship, is committed to compassionate, high-quality care—especially for vulnerable pediatric patients—and is actively involved in medical education, quality improvement, and community service.
