George Thibault, MD

George E. Thibault, MD, is the Chair of the Board of the ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education). A national leader in medical education, Dr. Thibault is the Daniel D. Federman Professor of Medicine and Medical Education Emeritus at Harvard Medical School and the past president of the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, as well as a member of the National Academy of Medicine. Previously, he served as the Vice President of Clinical Affairs at Partners Healthcare System in Boston and Director of the Academy at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Thibault was Chairman of the Board of the MGH Institute of Health Professions, Board Chair of the New York Academy of Medicine, and a Board member of the New York Academy of Sciences. In addition, he served on the President’s White House Fellows Commission and chaired the Special Medical Advisory Group for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
