Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award Information Form

The Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award (HETA) recognizes residents who demonstrate exceptional humanistic teaching as identified by third-year medical students. Up to six residents are selected for their outstanding teaching and commitment to compassionate care. Thank you for participating in this important program and helping to celebrate humanism in medicine.

Please note the following program procedures:

  • We issue digital certificates and award letters.

  • Schools print the certificates on heavier paper or cardstock (such as medium-weight) and have them signed by the dean or institutional signatory before presenting them to the awardees.

  • Pins are sent to schools for distribution at ceremonies.

  • To request expedited shipping, provide your school’s FedEx account information to Stacy Morris, MPA, at smorris@gold-foundation.org.
