2026 Art Gallery + Silent Auction

2026 Gold Humanism Summit Art Gallery

Thank you for your interest in contributing your creativity to the 2026 Gold Humanism Summit Art Gallery and Silent Auction. We are honored to invite healthcare professionals, learners, and all those connected to the healing professions to share work that reflects the human experience in medicine.

The Art Gallery is a central component of the Summit — a space where artistic expression helps illuminate, process, and honor the profound interactions we have with patients, colleagues, and ourselves. Your work becomes part of a collective reflection on what it means to care, to witness, and to be human in healthcare. Need ideas? Review the 2025 Art Gallery!

We invite you to submit visual art, written narrative, music, video, poetry, dance, or any creative medium that speaks to your experiences in healthcare.

Deadline: May 11

What Happens With Submitted Work

  • All submissions will be considered for inclusion in a widely disseminated digital art gallery, featured during the conference and on our website, and included in a digital catalogue shared with the broader Gold community.
  • Select pieces will be invited for display in the physical conference art gallery in Pittsburgh.
  • Artists whose work is selected for the physical gallery may optionally donate their piece to the Silent Auction, with proceeds supporting programmatic enhancements of the Gold Foundation.

Important Information for Silent Auction Participants

If you choose to participate in the Silent Auction, you will be asked to determine a starting bid.

We place great value on artists and the stories behind their work. To ensure the auction remains welcoming and accessible for Summit participants, we ask that you suggest a starting bid of $100 or less for your piece.

Important Requirements for Physical Display

To ensure a smooth installation process and a cohesive gallery experience, all artwork selected for the physical gallery must arrive fully “hang ready” and prepared for display upon delivery.

This means:

  • Framed or mounted (if applicable to the medium)
  • Wired, bracketed, or otherwise equipped with appropriate hanging hardware
  • Fully assembled and exhibition-ready upon arrival
  • Securely packaged to prevent damage during shipping

Artwork that arrives without proper hanging hardware or requires assembly may not be able to be displayed.

This means your piece should be complete, properly assembled, and equipped with any necessary hardware for hanging or presentation (such as hooks, brackets, or mounting supports, if applicable). The Gold Foundation will provide easels for display; however, any additional materials or specialized display needs must be supplied by you, the artist, and included in your shipment.

Please note that the Gold Foundation is not responsible for sourcing or providing installation materials beyond standard easels. Artwork that requires additional assembly or arrives without appropriate display accommodations may not be able to be exhibited.

For shipping, all pieces—especially those that are framed, fragile, or contain glass—must be carefully packaged with adequate cushioning, such as bubble wrap or protective padding, to prevent damage in transit. Any artwork that arrives damaged due to insufficient packaging will not be eligible for display or sale, and the Gold Foundation cannot assume responsibility for such damage.
