Student Opportunities

andrea yancoun quitoThe Arnold P. Gold Foundation has created experiential and service learning opportunities where medical students have opportunities to experience life through another’s eyes, understand the patient perspective and reflect on the role of the caregiver.

The Hope Babette Tang Humanism in Healthcare Essay Contest has taken place annually each Spring since 1999.  Students are asked to engage in a reflective writing exercise around a theme or quote related to humanism in medicine. Essays are judged for the chance to win a monetary prize and publication in Academic Medicine

The Student Summer Fellowship program offers opportunities for medical students to complete a research or service project related to community health. The grant award includes a $4,000 stipend for a 10-week period.
