Bui, the 2022 winner of the prestigious Pearl Birnbaum Hurwitz Humanism in Healthcare Award. Dr. Bui shares her inspiring story of being a “citizen of the world” and her early beginnings in Vietnam and the trek to the United States, which would thrust her at the center of the refugee experience and her American Dream.
Dr. Bui is a beloved professor at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, compassionate physician at UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), and enterprising leader in global health whose decades of action have improved the lives of underserved populations, refugees, and immigrants across two continents.
