Each year, the Gold Foundation hosts an event on Martha’s Vineyard to bring together our long-time supporters with those new to our nonprofit organization. In 2021, our “Vineyard” event was virtual, yet still imbued with warmth and devotion to our shared mission. Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha — 2021 Vilcek-Gold Award recipient, author of “What the Eyes Don’t See,” pediatrician, scientist, and activist — spoke about her passion for humanism in healthcare, her experiences, and the path ahead. She was introduced by Gold Trustee Deb O’Hara Rusckowski. We hope you enjoy this excerpt from the event!
