On November 1, 2016 the Gold Foundation held its annual Golden Thread Gala in New York City. We presented Humanism in Medicine Awards to
- Dr. Jordan J. Cohen for his commitment to academic medicine and his unmatched leadership and loyalty during his 10-year tenure as Chairman of our Board of Trustees, and to
- U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek H. Murthy for promoting humanism as a path to connect and improve the lives of healthcare professionals and all citizens of the United States.
Dr. Murthy delivered a powerful speech during which he noted that “the world is locked in a struggle between love and fear” and asked us all to help tip the scale towards love. His 15 minute speech will inspire you to help too.
