2020 AAMC Learn Serve Lead to feature a fireside chat with Vilcek-Gold Award honorees Dr. Vivek Murthy and Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha

The Gold and Vilcek foundations are excited to be presenting the 2020 Vilcek-Gold Award for Humanism in Healthcare to Dr. Vivek Murthy, the 19th U.S. Surgeon General and author of Together, at the AAMC Annual Meeting on Nov. 17, 2020.

The Vilcek-Gold Award, created jointly by the Gold Foundation and the Vilcek Foundation, is awarded to each year’s honoree at the AAMC Annual Meeting. Dr. Vivek Murthy, the 19th U.S. Surgeon General and author of Together, will give brief remarks and then join in a virtual fireside chat with Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, the 2019 Vilcek-Gold Award recipient who helped bring national attention to the Flint water crisis. Mark your calendar for this session: 1-2 p.m. ET on November 17!

The entire Learn Serve Lead is virtual this year, running from November 16 to 18. Keynote speakers include 19th U.S. Surgeon General and 2020 Vilcek-Gold Award recipient Dr. Vivek Murthy, NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, journalist Ann Curry, author and historian Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones, and many others.
