Hodges is the Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Education at the University of Toronto, the Richard and Elizabeth Currie Chair in Health Professions Education Research at the Wilson Centre for Research in Education and Vice President Education at the University Health Network. He leads the AMS Phoenix Project, a 5-year initiative to rebalance compassion with the technical aspects of healthcare.

Emerging Solutions: Advancing Compassionate, Collaborative Care – “The Triple C”

The Arnold P. Gold Foundation and the Schwartz Center for Compassionate Healthcare will conduct a workshop entitled “Partnering with Patients, Families and Interprofessional Colleagues to Advance Compassionate, Collaborative Care.” Compassion among clinicians, patients and families is crucial for effective collaboration. To address the need for compassionate, collaborative care (“The Triple C”), The Gold Foundation and Schwartz Center developed The Triple C Competency Framework. During the AAMC workshop, participants will share stories of compassionate, collaborative care, and learn the Triple C Competency Framework and how it maps to AAMC’s Entrustable Professional Activities, to ultimately integrate the Triple C Framework into our healthcare system and health professional education by infusing compassion into how providers-in-training are educated together and practice together to meet the needs of patients and families. |
