2021 Wall of Gratitude

If you would like to add a name to the list below, please make a contribution here and note the name of the healthcare team member you wish to honor in the box.

During this season of gratitude, let us remember the doctors, nurses, healthcare students, and team members
… who shine with humanism
… who respond with compassion
… who truly see you and your needs

Many thanks to…

Dr. Taranjeet Ahuja, truly represents humanism as defined by the Gold Foundation-caring for family, learners, colleagues & patients with kindness & compassion. She is a role model for medical education & patient care. With gratitude.

Ralf Hulsman RN, ACRN, LMT, always ALWAYS keeps in mind what is best for the patients in his care. Puts the amazing in what happens here.

Bestow this gift in the name of College of Mount Saint Vincent, from the Director of the FNP program in honor of my wonderful students that make a contribution everyday to be compassionate and caring.

In honor of Dr. Lisa Ferrara, who cares for her patients with deep attention, compassion, respect, and humor.

Omari Luckey, the most conscientious and compassionate critical care nurse I have been privileged to work with.

Dr. Elliott A Stein

Dr. Wally Belleza, who is an incredible ER physician and cares for his patients around the clock.

Callie Kaser, a residential nursing care aide in Fayette, Missouri who shows love, compassion and respect to all the residents.

Dr. Anthony J. Grieco’s patients have created a collection of owls that symbolize his wisdom. But they could have been hearts to symbolize his humanism that he has woven equally with science into his extraordinary practice.

Paveena Sloane, an ICU pharmacist at Valley Health in Ridgewood, NJ, tirelessly committed to her COVID drug trial task force throughout the pandemic and sought out by countless physician colleagues for guidance on and off the clock. Your attentiveness to the wellbeing not just of patients but also hospital staff throughout your career make us proud to call you our mom!

Dr. Jack Ende, an internist at Penn Presbyterian and former President of the American College of Physicians, treats his patients with compassion, respect, and scientific excellence. We salute you!

Dr. Daniel Karakla, an ENT surgeon at Sentara Healthcare, who cares for his patients with great compassion and concern, and who has saved countless lives. Thank you!

Dr. Tara Balija, a surgical oncology specialist at HMH Hackensack University Medical Center, who is an embodiment of humanism in healthcare. Her tireless work on behalf of patients is making a difference in so many lives. Thank you!

Dr. Raj Pyne, MD, FSIR, an interventional and diagnostic radiologist at Rochester Regional Health, and Program Director RGH Interventional Radiology Residency. He cares for his patients with great compassion and wonderful collaboration, as well as models to his residents how to best practice humanistically.

Dr. Deborah L. Toppmeyer, a medical oncologist, directs the Stacy Goldstein Breast Cancer Center and Chief Medical Officer, Cancer Institute of New Jersey. She brings both compassion and excellent science to bear for her patients.

 You can help, too!

The Arnold P. Gold Foundation was created to support humanism in healthcare. We invite you to join our mission! Three ways you can help:

  1. This Thanksgiving season, make a contribution to the Gold Foundation in honor of a special clinician in your life.
  2. Include their name in your contribution, so we can add them to our Wall of Gratitude.
  3. Share this with your friends or family and encourage them to thank a doctor, nurse, or healthcare team member today, too.

Thank you for supporting humanism in healthcare!
