2025 The Power of Humanism – GHHS Workshop at the AAMC

The Gold Foundation will be presenting a workshop at the AAMC Annual Meeting: The Power of Humanism: How to Transform Healthcare by Being More Intentional about the Human Connection, which will include Gold Humanism Honor Society members Dr. Anupama Devara, Associate Professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine; Dr. Mukta Panda, Professor of Medicine and Regional Dean of Morehouse School of Medicine at CHI Memorial Commonspirit Chattanooga; and Gold President and CEO Dr. Kathleen Reeves. Gold Vice President of Programs, Louisa Tvito, will also be leading part of the workshop.

This engaging workshop will share how the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) and an emphasis on humanism has impacted the lives of clinicians, the culture of schools and hospitals and the current leaders shaping healthcare. There will be emphasis on evidence-based tools that are universally applicable. GHHS, which is a program of The Arnold P. Gold Foundation, has 50,000 physician and medical student members.

To highlight the value of these evidence-based interventions, attendees will participate in Tell Me More®, a Gold Foundation communications tool that fosters a stronger connection between a patient and their healthcare team. The workshop will close with an interactive discussion that will leave attendees with action steps they can implement at their institution.

This session is designed both for Gold Humanism Honor Society members and for anyone in medicine who wants to increase the human connection with their patients, colleagues, students, and mentees. Join us for a meaningful workshop that celebrates the heart of medicine and the power of human-centered care.
