Virtual Humanism in Healthcare Course | 2020 Summer Cohort

We have received great response and have closed the outreach form.

“Humanism in Health and Healthcare” is a new virtual course hosted on the NextGenU.org platform, created in partnership with Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and The Arnold P. Gold Foundation.

In summer 2020, Dr. Jason Wasserman, Associate Professor at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, and Dr. Hedy Wald, Clinical Professor at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, will be leading a 4-week live, facilitated course using this curriculum for a cohort of 15-20 students. This course will include weekly discussions over Zoom, assignments, mentoring, and reflective writings. Credit may be arranged through a student’s home institution; the content of this course is mapped to the core competencies from medical and nursing accrediting bodies (more details will be forthcoming).

This is a new and exciting opportunity to bring together learners across the country who are passionate about humanism in healthcare. In this time of necessary physical distancing, Drs. Wasserman and Wald, in collaboration with the Gold Foundation, are delighted to bring a cohort of students this virtual learning option, connection, and reinforcement of their humanism.
