The Gold Foundation is pleased to be partnering with the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) to produce virtual keynote addresses for nursing and medical schools to use in their 2022-2023 White Coat or Pledge Ceremonies.
The Gold Foundation first offered a keynote recording in 2020 as many ceremonies shifted online, as an option for schools to incorporate into their ceremonies. We are continuing the tradition this year, with Dr. Nana Afoh-Manin, an emergency medicine physician, social entrepreneur, and champion of health equity, giving the keynote address for medical schools, and Rear Admiral Aisha K. Mix, the Chief Nurse Officer and an Assistant Surgeon General in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, giving the keynote address for nursing schools.
Dr. Afoh-Manin’s address also includes joint introductions by esteemed healthcare leaders Dr. Richard I. Levin, President and CEO of the Gold Foundation, and Dr. David J. Skorton, President and CEO of AAMC, for Allopathic (MD) medical schools, and Dr. Levin and Dr. Robert A. Cain, President and CEO of AACOM, for Osteopathic (DO) medical schools. The video is about 10 minutes in total.
This form is designed for medical schools to request access to the keynote address video to download or stream during their White Coat Ceremony. A similar form for nursing schools is also available.
