GHHS Advisory Council welcomes 6 new members

Six new members have been selected for the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS) Advisory Council, which advises and recommends policies and activities for GHHS to the staff and board of The Arnold P. Gold Foundation. The council also assesses and responds to members’ needs to further the mission of GHHS, which has more than 50,000 physician and medical student members who were selected for their compassionate care.

Three new Advisory Council Trainee Members are Nadia Kirmani, a MD/MS candidate at the Stanford University School of Medicine; Kaitlin Hardy, MD; a pediatric resident at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, part of the Eastern Virginia Medical School at Old Dominion University Program; and Jad Assi, MD, who is affiliated with the GHHS chapter at the American University of Beirut.

Linda Solis, PhD, was selected for a Program Director Member position. Dr. Solis is Associate Professor of Applied Humanities at the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM).

Mukta Panda, MD MACP F-RCP, will fill the Dean of Student Affairs Member position on the GHHS Advisory Council. She is Regional Dean of the Morehouse School of Medicine, Chattanooga; Professor of Medicine, Morehouse School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine; Medical Director of Wellbeing Duties, Memorial Healthcare Partners, Chattanooga.

The new Member at Large is Christy Lucas, MD, who is a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellow at DFCI/Boston Children’s Hospital and incoming Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow at the University of Rochester.

“We’re delighted to welcome these six new members to the Advisory Council,” said Louisa Tvito, MSW, Vice President of Programs. “We value their leadership in the Gold Humanism Honor Society and their service to their fellow members, as they bring fresh ideas around supporting humanism in healthcare and new contributions to help GHHS evolve and flourish.”

All Advisory Council members are Gold Humanism Honor Society members. Trainee Members serve a one-year term; all other members serve a three-year term.
