Thank you for participating in the review of our pilot White Coat Ceremony Toolkit designed for Pharmacy schools!
We recognize that many pharmacy schools have a long-established tradition of holding this important ritual and appreciate your time to review the pilot toolkit. With this toolkit, we wish to welcome pharmacy students to the Gold community and offer ways to incorporate the concept of humanism — which we define as compassionate, collaborative, and scientifically excellent healthcare — into the ceremony.
The Gold Foundation logo, featuring a golden Mobius loop, symbolizes the continuous bond of trust, respect and communication that connects healthcare professionals with their patients when humanism is at the core of healthcare, and we value the White Coat Ceremony as one of the earliest opportunities to introduce this concept in the healthcare professional student’s education.
What you’ll find in the toolkit:
- Introductory message to pharmacy students
- Areas that we would like to expand in the public version of the toolkit, such as examples of how pharmacy schools incorporate humanism into their ceremony and example oaths
- Templates and ideas for logistics
What we want your feedback on:
- Ideas you plan to incorporate into your ceremony
- Ideas for what you think would be helpful to add to the toolkit
After reviewing the toolkit sections and associated links, please share your feedback using the form below. We also ask you to share a few details about your school’s ceremony so we can reflect the variety of ways schools honor this tradition to make this toolkit a useful reference for pharmacy schools across the country.
We might follow up with you with clarifying questions or to request photos or other materials.
